Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-10-25

[LEGAL BUSINESS NAME] (“IAQ Solutions”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). This policy covers this website and the radon testing and mitigation services we provide.

Who is responsible

Our privacy officer is [NAME, TITLE]. Questions, access requests and complaints go to privacy@iaqsolutions.ca.

What we collect

  • What you give us in forms, by phone, by email or in person: your name, phone number, email, the address or postal code of the property, details about your home and your reason for contacting us, and radon results you choose to share.
  • Service records for work we do: detector locations and dates, laboratory results, photos taken during a visit, system design details, invoices and warranty records.
  • Contractor and builder applications: business details, certifications, insurance and WSIB status, and references.
  • Technical data when you use the site: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring site. Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider so we can receive them.

Why we collect it and how we use it

  • To respond to your request, schedule visits, perform testing and mitigation, issue reports and invoices, and honour our guarantee and warranties.
  • To meet legal, insurance, professional-certification and warranty record-keeping duties.
  • To improve the site and our services, using aggregated analytics.
  • Marketing, only if you opt in: occasional radon tips and testing reminders by email. We identify ourselves in every message, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message or by emailing us. We act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
  • Anonymized area statistics. We may combine results into area-level figures. We publish a figure for an area only when at least 30 results are available, and never in a way that identifies a home or a person.

Consent

By submitting a form or booking a service you agree to our collecting, using and disclosing your information as described here. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing may mean we can no longer provide a service. Marketing messages are always optional and are never a condition of service.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • service providers who help us operate, such as our accredited radon laboratory, website hosting and form handling, email delivery, and scheduling and customer-management tools;
  • a certified partner contractor, if one is assigned to your job and you’ve agreed;
  • a person you tell us to share a report with, such as a real estate agent, buyer, lawyer or home builder;
  • our insurers, advisers and warranty administrators where needed, and authorities where the law requires it.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to courts and authorities under local law. We require our providers to protect it appropriately.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that do not build profiles of individual visitors. If we add advertising or tracking cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

Keeping it safe, and for how long

We protect information with reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. We keep service and warranty records for 7 years after a job closes, and enquiries that don’t lead to a job for up to 24 months, then delete or anonymize them. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent, by emailing privacy@iaqsolutions.ca. We’ll respond within 30 days. If we can’t resolve a concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
