Detectors go in as the heating season starts.
How it works
Radon is invisible, so every step is about turning it into numbers you can trust: where to test, what the average is, what system your house needs, and proof it worked.
1. Identify
A short call to learn about your home: foundation, how you use the basement, any past results. We pick test locations by Health Canada’s protocol: the lowest level where someone spends four or more hours a day.
2. Measure
A certified technician places long-term alpha-track detectors where they’ll give a true reading: away from drafts, sumps and exterior walls, with a calibrated monitor beside them for the first 2 weeks. That gives you an early reading. You live normally, and after 91+ days we send the detectors to an accredited lab.
3. Understand
You get a written report with your average concentration, what it means against Health Canada’s guideline, and what (if anything) to do next. No pressure: about seven in eight Ontario homes come back below 200.
4. Fix
If your level is high, we assess the foundation, run a sub-slab communication test and design an active soil depressurization system to CAN/CGSB-149.12. Most homes are done in a day, with a fixed price agreed up front.
5. Verify
We confirm suction across the slab on install day, then you run a follow-up long-term test. If it isn’t under 200 Bq/m³, we come back and adjust the system at no cost.
Timeline
Detectors go in as the heating season starts.
Your first number at 2 weeks. If it’s clearly high, you can plan a fix now.
After 91+ days: lab analysis, your report, a call, and a quote if needed.
One-day install, then a follow-up test next heating season.
A clearly high early reading can move the fix up to November, with the follow-up test confirming it worked.
Testing can start any time of year. Heating-season tests give the most representative results.

Health Canada’s guideline is 200 Bq/m³, based on a long-term test of at least three months.
Questions
You get an early reading at 2 weeks and the full result after at least 91 days. If mitigation is needed, we can usually assess within a couple of weeks and install in a day. The follow-up long-term test then runs through the next heating season.
If you already have a long-term result above 200 Bq/m³, yes. If your 2-week early reading is 400 Bq/m³ or more, your long-term result is very likely high too, and you can book the fix without waiting; a long-term test after the install confirms it worked. Near 200, we recommend waiting for the 91-day result.
No. Our tests are independent. You’ll get the same report and advice either way.
Book a radon test with a C-NRPP certified technician: an early reading at 2 weeks, the full result at 91 days. If it’s high, we’ll design a fix and prove it worked.
